Happen意思是发生、出现、碰巧、 偶然遇到等。happen是不及物动词，用法有很多，那么你都知道它的用法吗?

happen的过去式

1、happen过去式是happened，它是不及物动词，没有被动语态。如：Thes tory happened in1601.What happened then？这句话不能说What was happenedt hen？在这里What做主语，这是一个主谓结构。

2、happen与to连用表碰巧、巧遇。I happened to be in the market yesterday when a fire started.昨天发生火灾时，我正好在市场上。

3、happen于on、upon连用偶表然发现。I happened on an old country hotel during the last summer holidays.去年暑假期间我偶然发现了一家古老的乡村旅馆。

4.happen to......临到某人头上。Did you hear what happened to David last night?你听说大卫昨天晚上发生什么事了吗?

happen的用法

1、表示“某地(某时)发生了什么事”，常用“sth.+happen+地点/时间”这一结构来表达，此时主语应是事情。

2、表示“某人出了某事(常指不好的事)”，要用“sth.+happen+tosb.”这一结构来表达。

3、表示“某人碰巧做某事”，要用“sb.+happen+todosth.”这一结构来表达。

4、happen表示“碰巧或恰巧发生某事”时，还可用“Ithappens/happenedthat...”这一结构来表达。
